Soothing Facial Mask

Stressed? Make a facial mask that’ll help you knock the socks off that long stressful day and the zits that came with it! Here’s what you’ll need for you DIYsoothing facial mask.


  • 1 egg white
  • 1/2 lemon’s juice
  • 2 1/2 tsps. cooled mint green tea and tea bag
  • 1 cup 1-minute plain oatmeal
  • 3 tbsp. plain yogurt


Brew one tea bag in 2 1/2 tsps of water and let cool. Crack egg open and separate the whites from the yolk*. Whisk egg whites until foamy and then mix in oatmeal until it is coated. Mix in lemon juice, oatmeal, and yogurt. Lastly, mix in cooled tea and leaves from tea bag.


Using clean fingers or brush, apply a thick layer of mixture to face. Avoid eye area. Leave on 5 - 10 minutes, then rinse off with warm water. Pat skin dry with towel and apply your favorite SPF moisturizer.

*Feel free to add the yolk to a deep conditioner for your hair.

This soothing facial mask has many skin health benefits. Green tea leaves exfoliate skin and has antioxidants that help remove toxins and lemon juice exfoliates skin. Oatmeal is anti-inflammatory, which can reduce iritation. Mint calms acne and shrinks pores and is also anti-bacterial and anti-fungal. Plain yogurt helps to make your skin glow because it’s lactic acid exfoliates dull skin away and reducing discoloration from acne scars.
